By this time the boat was a long way from the shore.
It was going against the wind and was being tossed around by the waves.
When the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water, they were terrified.
In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”
Matthew 14:24-41
The disciples faced a Life Storm.
The turbulent storm threatened the disciples because things got out- of-control. Hence, they “were terrified … and screamed with fear.”Â
Feeling out-of-control triggers INSECURITY: “the state of being vulnerable to danger or threat; lack of protection.”Â
HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU?
The following blogs will provide some wisdom navigating the storms of fear.Â
Acknowledge you’re in a Fill-Filled Life Storm. Do not conceal your anxiety, worry, fear and insecurity.
Genesis 3 is the first time “fear” is mentioned in the Bible.
“They realized they were naked, so they sewed fig leaves together and made something to cover themselves. Then they heard the Lord God walking in the garden during the cool part of the day, and the man and his wife HID from the Lord God among the trees in the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said, “Where are you?”The man answered, “I heard you walking in the garden, and I was AFRAID because I was naked, so I HID.” (Genesis 3:7-8)
Adam and Eve were afraid. To deal with their fear they did two things  They camouflaged their condition via fig leaves. Secondly, they hid. This is our default action when we’re afraid. Actually, it’s our natural reaction to any negative emotion. We bury our true condition. “How are you doing?” “Oh, I’m great!”
“Fear is the most subtle and destructive of all human diseases.” (Smiley Blanton) “The Lord God called to the man and said, “Where are you?” The Great Physician made a house call, seeking the dis-eased. “What’s wrong?” The patient replied: “I’m afraid!” NOTE! To The Doctor, Adam ACKNOWLEDGED  his condition.
