GOD LOVES TO DANCE

God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them reflecting our nature.
God created human beings;
he created them godlike, reflecting God’s nature
He created them male and female.
(Genesis 1:26-27)

GOD ( ONE ) > US ( PLURALITY ) = TRINITY

How shall we begin to understand this? Here’s THE clue: GOD IS LOVE! (1 John 4:8)

“The theologians in the early church tried to describe this wonderful reality that we call Trinity. If any of you have been to a Greek wedding, you may have seen their distinctive way of dancing. It’s called perichoresis. (The word comes from two Greek words, peri, which means “around,” and chorein, , which means ‘to give way’ or ‘to make room.’ It could be translated ‘rotation’ or ‘a going around’.) There are at least three dancers. They start to go in circles, weaving in and out in this very beautiful pattern of motion. The early church fathers looked at that dance and said, “That’s what the Trinity is like”. It’s a harmonious set of relationships in which there is mutual giving and receiving. This relationship is called LOVE, and it’s what the Trinity is all about. The perichoresis is the DANCE OF LOVE. (Jonathan Marlowe)

Whatever is going on in God is a flow, a radicle relatedness, a perfect communion between Three – a dance circle of love. (Richard Rohr – The Divine Dance)
