The Father’s Heart – Heaven

We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything
to work toward something good and beautiful
when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan.

From the distant past, His eternal love reached into the future.
You see, He knew those who would be His one day,
and He chose them beforehand to be conformed to the image of His Son
so that Jesus would be the firstborn of a new family of believers, all brothers and sisters.
As for those He chose beforehand, He called them to a different destiny
so that they would experience what it means to be made right with God
and share in His glory.
Romans 8:28-30

People hold some weird views about Heaven. My purpose to explore that which is taught in Romans 8:28-30 about one of the primary characteristics of Heaven.

Have you ever been to a classic car show? Or, have you ever seen a classic car on the road? These old cars have been restored to their original condition. So to, you will be restored to your original condition; well really an big update. Remember, your DNA is absolutely unique. In all of time there never was, is or will be another you. Father possesses the original blueprint of you. “Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I chose you for a special work.” (Jeremiah 1:5) Your DNA will not change in Heaven. Though we have been deformed by sin, Jesus dealt with that issue at Calvary. So, the Holy Spirit is free to help you become a Jesus-Sized version of the original of you.

Back to the the Heaven matter. Heaven will be populated by a family, the members of which bear the likeness of Jesus! He chose us beforehand to be conformed to the image of His Son so that Jesus would be the firstborn of a new family of believers, all brothers and sisters.” “If you had one son in whom you found unspeakable delight, would it not be normal as a father to want many more? It is exactly so with the Eternal Father, Who by nature and choice, has desired and purposed to have a vast family of human-divine sons who are just like His Only Begotten Son.” (DeVern Fromke) Those connected to Jesus will be “All in the Family.”

This family will be preoccupied with performing the will of the Father and so, glorify Him! “May your Kingdom come soon. May your WILL be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”(Matthew 6:10) “Our Lord and our God, it is right for You to have the shining-greatness and the honor and the power. You made all things. They were made and have life because You wanted it that way.” (Revelation 4:11)

Do you remember the blind man’s first condition. He saw but his vision was blurred. So it is with us. By faith we see; however, our vision of the above is blurred. As Paul said, “We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist.” (1 Corinthians 13:12) For most, it’s hard to believe that we’re going to be what the Creator originally designed and, even better. Nonetheless, we’re all going to be in the family of Jesus! People!  Consider this: “The Father has given us his love. He loves us so much that we are actually called God’s dear children. And that’s what we are. Dear friends, now we are God’s children. What we will be isn’t completely clear yet. We do know that when Christ appears we will be like him ….” (1 John 3:1-2)
